2020 JANUARY – SPECIAL CONTEST FOR NEW MEMBERS

Get a chance to win $1,000 by registering with LEO (for the first time) between January 1 and 31, 2020 inclusive.

This contest is open to new registrants who are not currently members of the LEO community. In order to enter, you must register with LEO for the first time during the period indicated above.

Subject to applicable laws, these rules apply to all aspects of the contest and are binding upon all participants.

 

Conditions for Participation

 

To participate in the contest organized by Leger, you cannot currently be a member of the LEO community. You must register (for the first time) between January 1 and 31, 2020 on legeropinion.com, confirm your email address, complete your profile and answer at least one survey during the period when the contest takes place.

The odds of winning depend on the number of people meeting the criteria listed above.

No purchase is required.

 

Eligible Contest Entry Locations

 

The contest organized by Leger is only open to residents of Canada.

 

Deadline for Entries

 

The contest will take place from January 1, 2020 00:01 (Eastern Standard Time) to January 31, 2020 at 23:59 (Eastern Standard Time).  

 

Method of Awarding Prize and Prize Description

 

The draw will take place on Leger’s panel management system in compliance with the conditions of participation set out in these rules.

The prize is a cheque for $1,000. The cheque will be mailed to the winner in the weeks following the draw.

 

Designation of the Prize Winner (Location, Date and Time)

 

The draw will be held at 507 Place d’Armes, suite 700, in Montreal, on February 1, 2020 at 13:00, Eastern Standard Time.

 

Media Used to Notify Winners

 

The winner will be informed by e-mail about being selected in the draw and the prize won, within 48 hours following the draw.

 

Claiming the Prize – Deadline to Claim the Prize

 

The winner must send the information requested to validate his or her identity within 10 days after the e-mail was sent.

The winner can reply directly to the e-mail or reach the Leger team by phone or mail.

The participant will not be declared an official winner until the necessary verifications have been completed.

 

Nature of the Skill-Testing Requirement that a Winner must Satisfy in Order to Claim His/Her Prize

 

To obtain his or her prize, the winner must:

  • Send us a picture of him/herself, containing Leger’s name, in order to demonstrate the authenticity of our winner to other participants
  • Confirm his/her mailing address, as well as his/her date of birth
  • Correctly answer the following skill-testing question: (25 + 15) x 5 – 100

By accepting the prize, the winner authorizes Leger, the contest organizer, to use the winner’s full name, address (only the city of residence will be reported), photo or image and any declaration about the contest for the purpose of publicity, without any form of compensation. The winner’s name will be posted on Leger’s website and other social media networks.

 

Eligibility and Exclusion from Participating

 

To be eligible for the draw, participants must be of legal age according to the legislation of their place of residence and live in Canada.

Participants must be active members of Leger Opinion and have joined LEO (for the first time) between the dates of January 1 and 31, 2020.

Leger employees, including its advertising and promotional agencies, as well as employees of the suppliers of the prize or those of another party directly or indirectly involved in the contest, including their family members and the people with whom they reside, may not participate in this contest.

 

Litigation

 

Any litigation with respect to the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (RACJ) for a ruling. Any litigation with respect to the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

 

General Information

 

Leger is exempt from any liability in the event of:

  • lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, incomplete or improperly forwarded registrations,
  • viruses on the website or computer bugs during the contest,
  • network outages or technical problems with phone lines or networks, computer systems, servers, Internet access service providers, installations or computer material or software,
  • any email error or transmission delay, or any other electronic transmissions transmitted by or to Leger or its agents as a result of any technical problems on the Internet or on any other website, or any of the above-mentioned factors in combination,
  • any injury or damages caused to a participant or to any other person associated with computers or as a result of participating in the contest.

Without restricting the scope of the contest rules, Leger reserves the right, at its entire discretion (subject to approval, if applicable, by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec), to modify, suspend or terminate the contest, in whole or in part (and, at its discretion, to name one or more winners among the registered participants) if, for any reason whatsoever, in the opinion of Leger, and at its discretion, the contest did not progress normally, notably because of falsification, an unauthorized human intervention, fraud, violation of contest rules, errors or technical malfunctions or a virus, a computer bug or any other cause that could alter the security and the administration of the contest or adversely affect it.

Leger reserves the right to substitute items of equal or greater value. In the event of unavailability of the prize, Leger will ship the most comparable model available.

Any attempt to deliberately damage any website, to obtain unauthorized access to another person’s computer, or to adversely affect the good functioning of the contest is a legal infraction, and, in the event a person would make such an attempt, Leger reserves the right, not only to disqualify this person from the contest, but also to fully exercise its right to remedy in damages under the law, including, if deemed necessary, criminal proceedings.

The personal information obtained on participants in the contest is used solely for the purposes of the contest and to participate in other potential online surveys with or without remuneration. However, under no other circumstances, will the personal information obtained be sent to third parties. Please consult Leger’s company group policy on the protection of personal information.
